I barely post here anymore because I just can't be buggered. Short list of things that have happened recently: - Stayed a week and a half in Sweden. Pictures'll come soon, I suppose. Stayed home for another week and a half. - Heidi visited for the weekend before she flew back from the US. She's much nicer in real life than on the internet, but that may have been homesickness. - Bought a new tv. The guy in the shop looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for a tv that can display low-definition without ruining the picture. Found one, then found out that despite what the manual says, it doesn't have an option for 4:3 so it's useless to me. Exchanged it for an older model but from a higher series and got a nice discount on that. - Went back to work and promptly ruined my arm again. That's why I'm now stopping this entry. I'm pushing for them to pay for my fysiotherapy since my insurance doesn't cover it. | | Friday, June 26th, 2009 | | 9:42 am |

I keep my security badge from work in my back pocket. My ass is so round and firm, the badge keeps getting bent out of shape and I have to get new ones. Just saying... | | Saturday, April 18th, 2009 | | 10:56 am |

Contract for the new apartment is signed which is awesome. Quite a step up from where I live now. I'm very upset about losing the bracelet Cecilia made for me. Most likely it was lost on the subway, meaning it's gone forever. Current Music: Cirith Ungol - Maybe that's why | | Friday, April 3rd, 2009 | | 10:34 pm |
Prison is hard on your hole
Last Tuesday I became an uncle. Kid's name is Dino. Not for Dinosaur but named after Dino Ferrari. First opportunity I will cut its forearms off to make him look like a Tyrannosaurus, though. What's been going on here? I've been getting in better shape thanks to swimming semi-regularly. I do backstrokes and everything like a regular Michael Phellis. I'm not taking a "big" (as in intercontinental) vacation. Instead I'll be using my free tickets to go to Sweden this June for a lovely week and half. Free housing and simply doing groceries at the local store all let me save up money for school. Another thing that will let me do that is moving in with Cecilia. We started looking for a place in Haarlem last week. There are a lot of creepy ads that will only rent to single women. I even saw one that would rent an apartment to "a single woman, preferably foreign". Yuch. To have some pervert sniff your panties and hang up cameras while you're away the rent ought to be lower. No festivals this year. Line ups are not too great (hard to top last year's Graspop but this year they're having Papa Roach and Motley Crue headline, what an embarassment). Wacken's having its 20th anniversary this year and there are like 3 bands I'd like to see. What's damn shame with having to save money is a bunch of sweet ass games coming out that I can't buy. I'll live. I've been playing Lock's Quest on DS which is excellent. Ninja Turtles are having their 25th anniversary and Mirage is finally putting out comprehensive trade paperbacks starting in July. At work I'm working 2 days a week at my regular department and 3 days at facilities, which is a fancy word for being a janitor, which is a less fancy way of saying custodial engineer. I don't have to clean stuff, just change light bulbs, fix desks, deliver mail. It's only been 2 days but it's quite nice. Alice Cooper was wrong
I had a tour of the school today and it convinced me to go through with it. Very hands-on approach in the course, seemed like honest people, very interesting field. Looks like I'll be studying digital film making when I can work out the finances. | | Thursday, March 19th, 2009 | | 7:31 am |
I ordered some stuff off of Amazon and it took about 3 weeks to arrive, but holy fuck was it worth it. Kepone rules. Current Music: Kepone - Idiot ball drop | | Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 | | 8:25 pm |

Yup
Finally done putting it off and sent an email requesting a personal tour of the digital film course they're offering in Amsterdam. I've been clearing my apartment of hoarded boxes, old electronics, movies and videogames I hate and every single copied cd, either giving it away or throwing it in the trash. Now if only Tom would pick up the rest of that bookcase... In the mail now are TOSlink cables (should improve the sound on my dvd player significantly), some dvds and cds and an original remote for my receiver. Luckily my brother seems to be over being dumped. Unfortunately a girl has convinced him to get a nipple piercing. This warrants endless mockery from me, my favorite line so far being "Guess my coat isn't the only thing coming out of the closet." Here's a video I love: | | Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 | | 7:47 am |

Metal mother
I got a call from my parents yesterday saying they'd be in town today. I met up with them, had a couple of drinks and talked. Then we headed to a record shop because I wanted some new albums. My mom picks up a Sepultura album and says "Oh, I remember this. You used to play this tape in the car on the way to Italy when you were young! I liked the tribal instruments on it." and bought it. I actually paid for it because I thought it was awesome. Then when I walked them to the train station we passed a couple of coffee shops and she says "Wow, you can really smell the shit." I love my mom. | | Thursday, February 26th, 2009 | | 4:31 pm |
Remember
The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud and it's fun for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say "Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride." And we... kill those people. Ha ha ha. "Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and family. This just has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourselves off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what you can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace. Thank you, and goodnight. | | 8:19 am |

Brugge 2009
Last week Cecilia surprised me with a long weekend in Brugge. The city is absolutely beautiful. Here are a couple of pictures. If you want more, just do a google image search. Unlike the other tourists, we were too busy enjoying the place to be documenting every step. ( Read more... ) | | 3:42 pm |

That's it, goodnight.
Coming home from the pool this morning another headset broke. I'm sick of spending 25 euros everytime one of those shitty cables breaks so fuck it. I'm saying goodbye to portable music. |
